Tournament-Ready Construction

Every rig is hand-built with the same precision we put into our lures. We use 12 feet of 150# premium fluorocarbon leader, providing the invisibility needed to fool line-shy tuna while offering the abrasion resistance required for a long battle.

• Heavy-Duty Hardware: Each rig features a 9/0 Southern Tuna hook, known for its incredible strength and ability to lock into a fish's jaw and stay there.

• Seamless Compatibility: These rigs are specifically designed to be paired with Joe Shute Trolling Heads. The RonZ tail provides a lifelike, vibrating action that complements the stable, keel-weighted tracking of our lures.

• Easy Maintenance: The entire setup comes in an easy-wash mesh lure bag, allowing you to rinse your tackle with fresh water and hang it to dry without removing the rig.

Rigging & Ordering Options

We provide the flexibility to customize your setup based on your current gear:

• Custom Crimping: If you order this rig alongside a Joe Shute lure, we can crimp the lure directly to the leader for you. Please specify which lure you’d like paired in your order notes.

• Open Loop Option: If no lure is specified, the top of the leader will come with an open crimp, allowing you to slide on your own Joe Shute head and finish the rig yourself.

To get the most out of your RonZ rig, we recommend pairing it with our heavier heads to keep the soft plastic submerged in the clean water behind the boat.

The Joe Shute 3oz Keel Weighted Series is the ideal mid-weight partner for the RonZ rig. The 3oz head provides enough ballast to prevent the soft bait from skipping, while the keel weight ensures the entire assembly tracks perfectly upright.

For deeper presentations or rougher seas, the Joe Shute 5.75oz Nickel Series adds significant depth and a high-flash nickel finish that draws predators from a distance.
